Here is the second painting in the Kaโu series. I donโt know how much further this is going to go, Iโm finding that I am not crazy about landscape painting, as much as I think I love it. It’s too easy for me to get lost in the details. This is a pond that is behind the coconut trees at the black sand beach in Punalu’u. I’ve always been fascinated by pond lilies and thought it was time I painted them. Now I find it fascinating that I considered this a landscape. It’s a pond!
I do love this one, it’s one of my favorites, and I’m glad the painting is still around. Here’s the final version:
